Improve your Flexibility using Hypnosis

The main way that we are able to increase our flexibility is through stretching exercises.

While doing a stretching routine, there are the two key factors of being able to stretch well:

1)  Warmed up muscles
2)  Relaxed muscles

Warming the muscles up is the easy part - light jog, star jumps, light skipping etc. As long as we don't "forget" this factor (or be too lazy) , then we'll avoid the possible injury of pulled muscles.

Onto the second factor - relaxation. Stretching creates a level of pain in the muscles being stretched, this causes the automatic response of the muscles tensing up, and creates a barrier for any further progress.

How can we stay relaxed during stretching?

This is where hypnosis comes in.Hypnosis is a relaxed state of mind which bypasses the conscious reasoning (such as good / bad etc.) and enables communication directly with the subconscious mind (which is just interested in us being safe). In this state, we are able to "program" our body to respond in a specific way to the external stimulus.

"Using hypnosis we are able to tell our body to stay relaxed when we feel pain during stretching."

Staying relaxed results in a very deep level of stretching and profound flexibility. This is where the pain level stays constant but the muscles are just able to go further and further. After a while, you don't even notice the pain, and you're just able to enjoy the new level of flexibility.

What is the best hypnosis session to use?

I would like to share with you a hypnosis session which has made a significant contribution to my flexibility training program, and which I hope would be helpful to you also:
Name Duration Price Voice Company
Pre-Yoga Stretch 25min 29.00 USD (17.56 GBP) Female Hyptalk
The first 6 minutes is the induction which starts with concentrating on the breathing, and then guides you to relax each part of your body.
I find Victoria's voice is smooth and very relaxing and the background music sounds likes the sounds from nature (birds chirping etc.).
You're then guided to imagine that there are two of "you" - one of you is lying down, and the other is helping you stretch. It's an interesting concept which helps to visualise what every part of you looks like from the outside. Then, when doing the actual stretch, I was able to "see" the muscles in my mind and let them relax further than before.
There are a number of references to Yoga, such as using the word "pose" and saying "the next time you practice Yoga...". Being a martial artist myself and never having done any Yoga, I did not find that to be a distraction. In my mind I simply connected Yoga = stretching.
At the end of the file, Victoria gives you the option to wake up refreshed or to carry on and sleep. Personally, I would normally be so relaxed that I would just drift off to sleep at that point. So if you need to be somewhere later that day - you may want to set an alarm!

You can listen to a short clip from this session here.

My Experience with the Company

I liked the overall layout and feel of the website - it's clean and easy to navigate.
I also liked the fact that you can listen to a short snippet of the file before deciding to buy.
The payment procedure was very straight forward. They ask you to create a customer account which takes a few minutes, and then give you the options to pay by Credit Card (online/phone), Send Payment (I assume it means cheque), or PayPal. I have used PayPal as I find it to be easy and safe.
I was pleased to have the mp3 file to be available for immediate download. It came in a zip file and was actually part of a package of 2 hypnosis sessions called "Hypnotic Yoga". There was a 9min introduction file which was useful to explain what hypnosis was and that it is a safe method of creating desired behaviours. The other hypnosis session is called "Yoga Strength and Balance" which is designed to improve posture, breathing and strength. So the price I paid for the whole package was actually quite reasonable.
(Note: I initially thought that there was a problem with the file quality, but then I changed from using VLC to Windows Media Player, and then everything worked fine. Playing it on my mp3 player was fine as well).

Conclusion

Overall, I found this to be a professional and good quality hypnosis program which helped me greatly to visualise and relax the muscles during my stretching routines, and ultimately it to become more flexible.
Some helpful tips

In order to get the most out of each hypnosis session, I have created a list of things I do to prepare:

- Eliminate any possible distractions - switch off mobile, make sure you're not thirsty or hungry.
- If you have any tasks that have to be done - do them first, otherwise you won't be able to relax completely.
- Make sure that environment is warm and comfortable and that the room you're in is well ventilated.
- Wear loose comfortable clothing.
- Practice taking deep breaths and holding your breath.
- Relax you body - massage it from toes up to the head, taking out the tension (taking a hot bath works great).
- Use stereo headphones.

Hypnosis helps us to accelerate our learning progress dramatically, but it still takes time. So, once you have selected the most suitable session - you must then stick to it and listen to it on a regular basis.

I wish you the greatest success in you flexibility training.

Thanks for stopping by.
